The summer is almost over, yet I am still reminiscing about my beautiful time in France. As I have spent a couple of years in school in south-western France I wanted to share some of my special summer moments with you.
The entire France trip started with two of my best friends. We drove 9 cool hours from Switzerland until we reached our final destination – La Valée du Lot.
It was a fun drive – especially as we hadn’t seen each other for a while.
Once we arrived, I went with my friends to the local Farmers Market, to visit Pech Merle – a cave with paintings date that back 29,000 years (!!!) and other beautiful villages and historic sites.
What I love about France- besides my great teenage memories from my time there – is the mentality. Everything seems easier! No one is stressed and cares if you arrive late somewhere or ignore the phone when it is ringing. It felt like a much needed detox from Life! Every time I go there I feel this way and now my friends could experience the same. I think we watched one movie during our stay and ignored our phones. As cell service is terrible there and our Wireless Internet seemed to give up its last bites (and it would only work in our kitchen) we simply didn’t use our phones – How Nice!
We didn’t miss anything! On the other hand, we got to spend quality time among my family with my friends, spent our free time playing games, talking, reading or obviously eating and drinking wine 🙂 I mean who is to blame – it is part of the culture as I would like to put it.

Uggghhh it’s truly my dream to visit France – specifically Paris – and I’ve wanted to go ever since I was a little girl. A summer in France sounds magnificent, and the pictures prove that to be true. I’m glad you had such a wonderful time!
