CHANEL vs. DIOR

Hello my loves,

How have you all been?

These days, or rather months I have come to see how much I adore Dior. For some reason, Dior wasn’t as much on my radar as Chanel for example in the past years. Yet, I have to say – I have fallen in love with their collections.

I think it all started with the re-launch of the Saddle bag last year. Still, I am so happy on getting my hands onto one of these beautiful babies (see pictures below). But I have also come to realize, that their accessories in general are absolutely stunning. I would describe myself as someone who has “phases”. Phases of being into certain things or brands as I believe they sort of “talk” to me. Yet, I have realised, Chanel for instance always “talked” to me (I hope this makes somewhat sense 🙂 ).

So since I got the saddle bag in blue oblique with the matching strap at the Dior boutique in Zurich, I have bought the Book Tote from the Riviera collection with the matching scarf in Porto Cervo, the J’adior shoes in Mila, a Dior choker in Porto Cervo and now I am also thinking of getting a medium Lady Dior in red (see pics below). But here comes the problem; I always wanted a red chanel flap bag with gold hardware. It is very difficult for me to find the right tone of red. Chanel had launched a couple of red’s in their past collections but often their were “too brownish” or the bags came with silver hardware. I am worried that once I buy the red lady Dior, I will maybe regret not investing the money into a red chanel bag? Nonetheless, I love the lady Dior! It is such a classic model, so stunning and a nice change from the chanel flap bags (that I still love). I just don’t know what to do 🙁

Both brands have amazing collections and I find it very difficult to chose from either. Will I be more Dior girl in the long run? Or will I stay a Chanel gal all the way along – I don’t know. But what I know, is that Dior has done a great job at re-inventing itself and placing their collections at sight for the younger clientele.

I would love to know what you think about both brands.

Yours,

Hanna
