My time in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil

Hello my dear friends <3

Earlier in August I went to a place called “Foz do Iguaçu” in Brazil. The city is located near the Argentinian and Panama boarders. Furthermore, you can find there the world’s biggest waterfall system. I have been there once before with my father and this time I came back with my mother and her friend. We had a wonderful time.

We didn’t spend much time there because our main purpose was to fly to Rio de Janeiro for the Olympic games, so we thought a one day stop at Iguaçu wouldn’t hurt, for the memories sake.

There weren’t many options on where to stay, so we picked “The Bourbon Cataratas Hotel“. The Hotel is very nice and has its’ own Animal Park. I loved it and I am sure, kids would love it even more 🙂

The water chutes are maybe 20 mins away from the Hotel. It is one of the most breath-taking experiences you will ever have. I felt so small, so unimportant there… The chutes simply show that mother nature is “The BOSS”! There are many different options on how you can experience the chutes; You can fly over them, walk around through little paths (very time consuming and I did it last time), take a boat and pass under the chutes or simply take a taxi and let you bring to the best spots (which I did this time).

Before flying off to Rio we went to see the “Parque das Aves”. It is a beautiful park where you can find local birds (The ones from the movie Rio are also found in there) and many other animals including reptiles and butterflies.

It was a truly amazing experience and I can strongly recommend it to anyone who is thinking of seeing something out of the ordinary 🙂

I hope this post gave you some inspiration for your future travel plans!

See you soon,

Isabelle
