When in Los Angeles

Hello Everyone,

I have been a few times to LA and here you will find my absolute favorite things to in the city of angels:

  • Walk around Rodeo Drive: It is the place where LA just spoils your eyes. Beautiful people, beautiful cars and amazing Shops! Don’t forget to take a picture by stairs that lead you to a beautiful tiny street with only shops!
  • Go to the Griffith Observatory and walk around
  • Take a picture of the Hollywood sign: My friend and I drove to a residential area to find a good spot for our photo-session:) Just follow the road somehow and don’t lose eyesight of the Hollywood sign (I know our strategy was very random).
  • Go to the Getty Museum: I am not kidding you but this place is just breath-taking! Exotic gardens, an amazing view over LA, incredible architecture… I was just WOWed! You definitely should go there and spend a couple of hours at this amazing place.
  • Getty Villa: Absolutely beautiful Villa next to the Ocean. I took an Uber there and the drive wasn’t that bad! Plus on the way you can stop in Santa Monica 🙂
  • Melrose Avenue for shopping: I loved going to the Kitson LA shop but I recently read that they had to close 🙁 I am really sad about this because that store was the source of all my fantastic phone covers 🙂 And some other fun stuff like my Homies shirts… Oh well 🙁 But there are plenty of amazing shops there still!
  • The Grove: Fantastic outdoor shopping mall! You have stores like TopShop, MAC, Honest Beauty and more there! It is a very pleasant place for your eyes and there are plenty of great dining options! I just loved it 🙂
  • Go to the LACMA: I absolutely love going to Museums wherever I travel and that one is very cool! It is very close by of Beverly Hills so you should really check it out! There is great art and sculptures and you can take fantastic pictures there for your Instagram 🙂 (Come on, everyone does it haha).

Now lets have a look at Restaurants:

  • The Ivy: I simply love that place! It has a very nice and a bit upscale menu but the food is so good! Also, if you have any extra wishes the servers are not bothered at all to accommodate you. It is a busy place and make sure you are well dressed… the scene is very “Housewives of Beverly Hills” like… a lot of Birkin and Chanel bags will cross your way.
  • Mr. Chow: I went there with my friend and we had a very delicious dinner. My sea bass was to die for.. Literally! So smooth, it was amazing 🙂 We had appetizers, deserts etc.. and we simply loved every piece of it! What I really enjoyed was the fact that I didn’t feel heavy after leaving the restaurant… and that’s always a plus! Oh and by the way… it is a great place for celebrity spotting… there were a bunch of paparazzi waiting outside the venue… They were a little disappointed when only me and my friend walked out ahaha….. Oh well, we celebs in our way lol.
  • Fig & Olive: This was a great place to dine at! We casually met Josh Duhamel while waiting for our car… Ok granted, I did not recognize the guy but my friend did 🙂 I am terrible when it comes to celebrity spotting, honestly! Anyways, this restaurant is in Melrose and serves very delicious mediterranean food! I simply loved it. The interior is also very pretty and I really like their bar as well.
  • Urth Caffé: Oh my, how many times did I go there? I can’t even count them! I LOOOOOVE this place! It is perfect for a post-shopping lunch! It is a very hipster place that is constantly crowded when you get in. However, once you place your order it isn’t that bad! I simply love their “Organic Green Tea Boba”  and “Caravan Kale Salad”. They have a very good menu with salads, sandwiches, sweets and refreshing drinks. I usually go to the Melrose location because I love it there… And you can keep shopping afterwards or just take a stroll.
  • The Griddle Cafe: This place is a breakfast/brunch must! My friend from LA took me there, at like 7 am before her work and I had one of my best breakfasts there! Diner kind of feeling but extensive choice of food… that place is a surprising hip and cool!
  • Nobu: I had a reservation there but on our way to Malibu, a guy crushed into our car… So I never made it …. But I heard amazing things about it! I have been to several other Nobu locations and they were all delicious… you should probably go there as well:)

I hope you enjoyed this LA post and if you have anything to share, please feel free to comment below.

As usual, thanks for stopping by!

Isabelle
