My Hair – Tips and Tricks

Hello Peeps,

Often, I get messages on my Instagram account (@queen_isabelle8) about my hair routine. I decided to write a blogpost about it to give you a good insight on what I do, in order to keep my hair in shape.

For women, hair is one of the most beautiful “jewellery”we can have. We love beautiful hair, and we want to flaunt it to the world. All the celebs look stunning with amazing hair and hairstyles on events and influencers on their pictures look like out of a magazine with their big and beautiful hair. The standard woman doesn’t have all this time on her hand to spend it on styling the hair, yet she still wants to have pretty hair. Here are some of my tips on keeping it healthy and lush. Believe me, I am the last person to spend much time getting ready in the morning. For me, every minute counts!!

In this article, I will post some links for some hair tutorials that I found on youtube and some of my favourite products. I am willing to pay the extra dollar for my hair to be healthy, but I also love using some that are affordable for all of you 🙂 So keep reading …..

Hanna’s recommendations:

  1. Cut your hair once in while. I am not talking about the ends, no I am talking about a proper haircut. I cut my hair short some time ago, I had it all gown long and then decided I needed a change and cut it short. Most of us women are afraid of cutting it. But seriously, do it! HAIR GROWS BACK! Its such a nice change when you do it, and gives you a great feeling. It is also good for your hair as it can fully recharge itself and grow back in its fullest health.
  2. Don’t over do treatments. Its nice to go to the salon and pamper yourself, but keep in mind that colour treatments, heat treatments etc are not good for your hair. It happened to me that I only go once a year to the hairdresser to get a cut when I was growing it back (ok I was super lazy to go but my hair ends were not splitting, so I figured it is ok not to go). My hairdresser told me it was absolutely ok to wait as my hair was very healthy. She cut maybe 1cm of ends and that was it 🙂 I felt great after!!
  3. I don’t straighten or curl my hair often – again, often use of these tools can harm your hair! Instead, try out some cool do-ups with your hair, like this you won’t need straighteners or curlers that much.

  4. Don’t wash your hair too often. I wash mine when I see it needs to be washed. I used to wash it almost every day back in 2014 because I would hit the gym so much. I noticed how my hair started drying out so I stopped. Now its usually every 21/2 days to 4 days and I have no problem using dry shampoo. I use one by living proof (click here) and one by Bumble & Bumble (click here).
  5. Sleep with a braid. Before going to bed, I make sure my hair is brushed and knot free. I then make a braid and sleep like that. This avoids your hair of tangling and keeps it nicely together.
  6. Before washing your hair, brush your hair to remove all hair tangles. Again, this will avoid hair loss post hair wash, when you try to comb your hair.
  7. Air dry it whenever you can. That’s what I do most of the time – I let my hair dry all naturally. I try to avoid heat impact as much as possible. When you blow dry your hair, use a heat protection spray. Apply it on your damp hair before blow-drying it. 8. Hair Oils – I sometimes put some oils on my hair, it gives it a beautiful glow and makes it health. The one I use is by Nuxe (click here)
  9. No bleaching! No perms! No extensions! These will destroy your hair! You have to cut it short afterwards. In case you didn’t know, hair extensions can give you entire hair holes on your head, so please don’t do it!! If you want to have glam hair because it is fashion right now, by some removable extensions (I have some too) and clip them in when you feel you need it.
    1. I use clip-able hair extensions by Bellami (click here)They are on the pricier side, but the quality of them is absolutely worth it. I have mine for 3 years now and I love them!
  10. Invest in good hair products. I am not ashamed to pay a good price for quality products, my hair is thanking me. Here are some of my favourite ones:
    1. Shampoo and Conditioner by John Frieda (click here). I use the Brilliant Brunette line here (I have brown hair) and I love this shampoo and conditioner! It is not too expensive and your hair looks great after.
    2. Aveda has great products, I love them all (for hands, hair, feet, …) but I really like their Rosemary Mint Shampoo (click here)
      1. Now we are hotting the expensive product line – but in my opinion they are amazing! I love OribĂ©. I have tried out a couple of products from them and they are great. Expensive but great. I love the smell of my hair and how soft it is after using them. I can highly recommend the following products there;

Ok girls and maybe guys (most of these brands also have products for men), I hope this article was helpful. Just take care of your hair and don’t overdo the styling 🙂 Oh yes, I forgot to mention, I did wash my hair with eggs too – it is weird but it definitely is something natural and good. Just crack the eggs in a bowl before going into the shower and don’t take them in one piece like I did in there.

Lots of love

Hanna
